Workers are back onsite at the 3NE solar farm site near the airport in Fort Chipewyan – continuing the work that was suspended on April 7. Screw piles are being driven into the ground, racking is going up, and solar panels are being mounted. Work will continue through the summer, and we expect the project to be completed on schedule, with first power production this fall.
The return of construction workers to Fort Chipewyan was approved by community leaders (through the Fort Chipewyan Collaborative Community Leadership meeting), and workers will be following isolation procedures on their return to avoid contact with community members.
